CAA to bury the campus in events

During this year’s RAMpage Homecoming week, the Carolina Athletic Association is encouraging UNC students to “Bury William and Mary.” The CAA is hosting a number of events in the Pit every weekday from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. There will be night events as well.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, the CAA is hosting a karaoke night at 10 p.m. at He’s Not Here.

On Monday, Oct. 25, there will be a doughnut eating contest, a cash cube and free potato chips available from Kildare’s.

Rita’s will host a Celebrity Scoop Night. Football players will be serving ice cream, with 15 to 25 percent of the proceeds going to the football team’s chosen charity.

Tuesday, Oct. 26, is “Campus Celebrity Pie in the Face” day. With a one dollar donation, students can throw a pie at a well known member of the community. Donations will go towards the Mr. and Miss UNC service projects. Free hamburgers will be served from BUNS.

The American Red Cross club is holding a blood drive in the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a 15 percent discount night at Cold Stone Creamery. It is also DJ night at Pantana Bob’s at 10 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, 13 student groups will perform. Free pizza from Domino’s will be served. Students can carve pumpkins as well.

The Varsity Theatre will be showing “Hocus Pocus” at 9:30 p.m. for a Halloween movie night. Students can get free popcorn if they present their OneCard.

Thursday, Oct. 28, it is “Pros v. Joes” as students participate in a football throwing competition with various sports teams on campus. Krispy Kreme will serve Carolina blue doughnuts.

The R&R Grill will host “Rampaging Night.” Carolina blue drinks will be served to students over the age of 21. There is also a mixer for the class of 2012 at East End Oyster & Martini Bar.

On Friday, Oct. 29, students can trick or treat in the pit. Ben & Jerry’s will be serving ice cream.

From 3-7pm, students can participate in a three-on-three volleyball tournament at the South Campus Recreation Complex. All proceeds go to the “Get REAL & HEEL” breast cancer program.

Saturday, Oct. 30, there will be two tailgates two hours prior to the football game, one for seniors and one for all students in the Manning quad. There will be free barbecue, a band, and cornhole games.

The Carolina Inn will host a post-game party with Spare Change at 7 p.m.
