Two Chapel Hill-Carrboro City schools are currently competing for national awards.

Seawell Elementary and Ephesus Elementary have both been nominated as part of the Title I Distinguished Schools Recognition Program.

Seawell Elementary has been nominated in the Sustained Student Achievement category and five staff members will attend a recognition event in Greensboro on Oct. 28.

Ephesus Elementary is nominated in the Exceptional Student Performance category. Due to its progress in closing the achievement gap, the school has been asked to submit an application to the N.C. Department of Public Instruction for further consideration.
