After a two-year legal battle, the University has settled its lawsuit with The Daily Tar Heel and seven other media outlets over records relating to the 2010 NCAA football investigation.
Per the agreement, the University will turn over, among other records, unredacted transcripts of player interviews conducted during the investigation. UNC has released officials’ phone records and athletes’ parking tickets as a result of previous rulings.
The University has argued that the records in question were protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
