UNC junior Stedman Gage passed away Friday night, according to an email from Peter Blumberg, president of the Interfraternity Council, to council presidents.

Gage was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the son of former UNC-system Board of Governors Chairwoman Hannah Gage.

Chuck Quinlan, watch commander for the Chapel Hill Police Department, said police responded to an off-campus location late Friday night. Quinlan said the person was dead on arrival, and officers did not find anything suspicious at the scene. He said the investigation is ongoing.

Quinlan could not yet confirm if this incident was related to Gage’s death.
