A Chapel Hill Police Department canine named Kearny was located and safely returned to the police department.
Kearny escaped from a fenced yard in the Parkwood area of Durham County at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Kearny is a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois, according to a press release from the Chapel Hill Police Department.
