In Chancellor Carol Folt's monthly update, which will be sent out to students and faculty later today, she said the University will not be able to respond to reports or allegations regarding athlete academics until the investigation by Kenneth Wainstein is complete.

While the statement did not name Rashad McCants, she states she is responding to requests for comment on last Friday's ESPN story.

Folt's statement implored others with information to reach out to Wainstein, who was retained in February to conduct an independent investigation of the University.

"I believe we have a responsibility to our students, faculty, staff, alumni and University community at large to ensure we get this right, to empower Mr. Wainstein to investigate fully, thoughtfully and without any interference — and I encourage anyone who has relevant information to contact him directly," the statement said.
