TO THE EDITOR:
Kudos to the Facility Services landscapers for their imagination in re-purposing the beautiful blue and white hydrangeas at the side of Greenlaw Hall following the May Commencement ceremonies. While it is gratifying these plants should afterwards find a permanent home on the campus, it is nevertheless disappointing that they could not have been installed around the Old Well as part of a re-design to displace the Wolf Pack garden — those hideous red and white azaleas which have been the greatest horticultural insider joke on UNC for years.
Stop by Greenlaw Hall, have a look and imagine how more in keeping the Old Well would appear if it were properly re-planted.
