If last week was all about food trucks, then this week is all about helping your town. Memorial Day weekend is coming up and if you have any spare time between eating hot dogs and not being in class/work, check out these events. There are a lot of opportunities for serving your community! 

  • May 24 - Nature Storytime - Bring your child to enjoy the enjoy a literary experience in the presence of nature – while you also give yourself a break. (Duke Gardens)
  • May 25 - Light the Woods with Sound - This art installation comprises of 384 neon light tubes that create a theremin. Trippy. (Dorothea Dix Park)

  • May 25 - Jaw Fest -  Human foosball! Punk Rock Flea Market! Dance Party! Dunk Tank! Need I say more? (Beer Study)
  • May 25 - May Arts Night - DAC is collaborating with the Nasher Teen Council for the first time to create this funky art show. (Durham Arts Council)
  • May 26 - Champions League Final Viewing Party - Hey, so, apparently soccer is like, a pretty huge deal? If that is what you're into, then this is the place you should be. (Beer Study)
  • May 27 - 9th Annual SEEDS Pie Social -  Help support Durham youth programs and eat tons of pie? Sounds like a nice Sunday afternoon to me. (Fullsteam Brewery)



  • May 27 - Dog Days - Bring your pups ( or adopt a pup!) and grab a beer at this chill fundraiser. Oh, and don't forget to bring a donation of pupper food. (Beer Durham)
  • May 25-27- Freedom Balloon Fest- Hot. Air. Balloon. Rides. I don't know if that sounds magical to you guys but it does to me. (Freedom Balloon Fest)
