Police reports: July 17-23

  • Vandalism and willful damage to property were reported on July 18, 2018 at 2:49 a.m. on the 500 block of West Franklin Street, according to Chapel Hill Police reports. 

The suspect damaged the victim's property. That property was listed as an umbrella valued at $50. 

  • Larceny was reported on July 18, 2018 at 5:51 p.m. on the 100 block of West Franklin Street, according to Chapel Hill Police reports. 

The suspect attempted to steal the items by concealing them. The items included: nail polish, various makeup, Dr. Scholls and Honey Bunches of Oats. The total value of the items was $146.02.

  • Breaking and entering was reported and larceny from a vehicle was reported on July 20, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. on the 100 block of Forsyth Drive, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.  

The suspect broke into and unlocked vehicle and took bluetooth headphones, a headphone case, a smartphone, a house key and a civilian model conducted energy weapon (taser). The items were valued at $925.

  • Fraud was reported on July 19, 2018 at 2:21 p.m. on the 1000 block of Environ Way, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The suspect was writing fraudulent prescriptions.
