UNC to reduce operations, classes remain as Hurricane Michael approaches

Heavy rains flooded the Pit in 2013. 

UNC released an Alert Carolina message Thursday afternoon alerting students, employees and faculty that the University would move operations to Condition 1 due to adverse weather at 2 p.m. 

Condition 1 means that classes remain scheduled, but second shift employees can report to work at 5 p.m. instead of 4 p.m. Employees, students and faculty are encouraged to consider their personal circumstances before reporting to work. 

Orange County is under a flash flood warning until 5 a.m. on Friday, as are several surrounding counties.Keep up with cancellations for local schools, events and University activities here.
