Lawrence and Cooper: Together Again

It looks like Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper are joining forces again in “Serena,” set to be released this Halloween. While we haven’t seen a trailer yet, Lawrence and Cooper have already proved their on-screen chemistry in the successful film “Silver Linings Playbook.” “Serena” takes place in our very own North Carolina in the 1930s. All IMDB has to offer so far is an intriguing photo of the duo dressed in their best depression-era duds but “Serena” promises to show a new side to Lawrence; Serena is unable to bear children and plots to kill her husband’s illegitimate son. The book that the film is based on is by Ron Rash, a North Carolinian who is giving a talk at the Genome Sciences Building on October 3 so check him out! — Lizzie Goodell

Television

Summer Heights High, In Part, Returns

In 2008, Chris Lilley created and starred in an Australian mockumentary series that follows the lives of two students and one teacher at an Australian public school — Summer Heights High. It’s recently been announced that Ja’mie King, the spoiled, private school transfer student from the show, will be back in a reprise centered solely on her. On November 24, Ja’mie: Private School Girl” will air for the first time on HBO. The new series will follow the bratty and dramatic young Aussie around as she returns back to Hillford Girls Grammar. Though most of us were somewhere around 13 years old when we last laughed at Lilley playing three different but equally ridiculous characters, few of us ever become too old to giggle at the antics of a mean girl, especially when she’s played by a 39-year-old man. — Tess Boyle

It’s been an exciting week for rapper Danny Brown. Not only is the Detroit MC’s debut album Old now streaming on Spotify, but he was recently allowed across the border to play shows in Toronto and Montreal. Brown stated during a recent Reddit AMA that he’d been barred from playing a show in Canada because he “sold drugs.” — James Stramm

Gucci Mane Headed to Prison

Azelia Banks has more Beef

The hotheaded and fiery Azelia Banks has yet another bone to pick with an artist. This time, up-and-coming electronic band Disclosure is in her sights. Banks recently scrapped a collaboration with the band after they had reportedly been “like, really rude in an interview.” Disclosure doesn’t seem to be taking it to personally as band member Howard Lawrence sarcastically retorted, “we’re actually terrible, terrible people.” — James Stramm
