I can think of about a million ways to describe a UNC student: smart, funny, inquisitive, caring, kind, hard-working, ambitious, good-looking, charming, worldly...where was I going with this?
Oh, right.
We are a lot of things, but above all else, UNC students are spirited. Spirited as heck, in fact. Anybody who is a past, present or future Tar Heel can tell you that we attend one of the most spirited schools in the nation, and that we love to show off our pride in our school.
The UNC Student Stores are filled with everything one might need to display one's dedication and school spirit, from books and game day shirts to UNC garden gnomes and other really, really weird things. But as a self-proclaimed fashionista, I'm constantly looking for ways to combine both my love for style with my love for the university.
And so, with my camera in my hand and some last-minute models by my side, I headed to the Student Stores to hunt for the most fashionable items in stock.

The dozens of sweatshirts the Student Stores have available are definitely a personal favorite. The shirts’ designs have a certain vintage vibe about them that can be easily made into a great outfit.
For best results, I would pair these with ripped blue jeans and high-top sneakers or layer a flannel shirt underneath. Either way, you’ll get a great 90's look and probably remind yourself of your mom or dad in their golden years.

If you’re an accessories kind of person, the Student Stores can keep on bringing it. Hats provide more outfit freedom while still enabling you to show off your school pride. Whether you’re searching for floral print, pastel or something a little more simple, there are hat styles perfect for all kinds of outfits.

Additionally, with the fall/winter season upon us, all-black looks are something that I both practice and preach.
Although I love my Carolina blue, one of the things I was most concerned about in choosing UNC was being able to hold onto my favorite dark, intimidating outfits — but believe it or not, there are ways to look both vampiric and school spirited!
Take THAT, middle school goth phase.
