I added 'ghost hunter' to my long and winding resume Monday

I always knew I would be involved in some weird paranormal hysteria, I just thought I'd be on the other side. The side making fun of it.

My roommate Rachel and I downloaded ghost hunting apps for our phones Monday and we've been searching for spirits ever since.

I found several ghosts in The Daily Tar Heel office. It's honestly not surprising this place is haunted, I leave my spirit hear every day.

Some of the ghouls are probably creeping out onto Rosemary Street, hitting up the carcasses of failed restaurants past.

Those ghosts better watch their phantasmic fannies, because Rosemary sidewalks could be renovated soon.

QUICK HITS

  • There are more than 400 signatures on a petition to bring gender-neutral bathrooms to Chapel Hill businesses.
  • It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a...foot? The giant heel you see on the bottom of UNC Hospitals' "heel"icopters has been around for nearly 30 years.
  • Experts say jumping over bonfires is dangerous. So is ghost hunting, but you know, we have to live while we're young.

IN OUR OPINION

You don't have to be a devout UNC basketball fan to know that Brice Johnson is so good, he deserves to be president for the day. Or mayor. Director of Chapel Hill Sanitation? (He's been known to take out the trash.) Okay, at LEAST a finalist for Naismith Player of the Year.

IN SPORTS NEWS

Quarterback Marquise Williams dreamed of having the performance he had at UNC's Pro Day. It showed that he's been training for the past few months the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. I hope next time he's in Orlando he gets to go to Disney World like that other quarterback.

IN UNIVERSITY NEWS

Margaret Spellings visited UNC Tuesday. She made an appearance at the Innovation Showcase and a faculty meeting. She responded to student protests by saying, "Give me a chance. I’m all ears." This is part of her tour of UNC-system schools, and she'll be visiting a few more in the next few weeks.

IN THE BLOGS

Sometimes, you just need to replenish your stash of reaction gifs. Here are some gifs from "New Girl." While you're looking at them, would you mind letting me know if you think Schmidt is handsome or not? A few years ago, I used to think he wasn't, but now I think he's a regular Robert Redford. You grow and mature in a lot of ways in college.
