DTH at a Glance

Well readers, it's been a few months. Time for you to finally meet the squad.

The candidate profiles for our next EIC are live! If you love us or hate us, you should read them.

Let me introduce you to the candidates:

Langston Taylor is a 6'1" senior from Marion, Iowa.

One time Sarah Vassello met John Stamos on a plane, and he told her she was pretty.

Alison Krug is impossibly fast and strong. Her skin is pale white and ice cold. Her eyes change color, and sometimes she speaks like she's from a different time. You know what she is. Say it. Out loud.

Jane Wester is a golden retriever with opposable thumbs.

None of those things are actually true. Check out those links to see their real profiles and consider joining our selection committee.

  • Former North Carolina governor Charles Brantley Aycock’s name has been removed from campus buildings at three universities, not including UNC.
  • Why Roy Williams is the most daggum precious coach in the NCAA, in gif form.
  • If you don't understand what all the House Bill 2 fuss is about, check out this FAQ.

IN HOUSE BILL 2 NEWS

Two civil rights organizations and three N.C. residents filed a lawsuit against HB2 Monday. Chapel Hill businesses are taking a stand against the controversial bill, including Sup Dogs, Linda's and The Cave. Last night, the Chapel Hill community filled the streets to protest the bill.

IN UNIVERSITY NEWS

Chancellor Carol Folt gave the first State of the University speech Tuesday. She praised the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of UNC. I think she is setting herself up for re-election.

IN THE BLOGS

Over the summer, I had a pen pal. I was in New York City and she was in Los Angeles. We had exactly one correspondence before I lost my mailbox key and just quit checking my mail instead of paying the $75 for a new one. Here's how to send snail mail without sucking as much as I do.
