DTH at a Glance: Catch me outside (literally, in Polk Place)

Good morning!

Starting at 9 a.m., you'll be able to catch me, my dog and 20 of our closest friends handing out copies of The Daily Tar Heel's Final Four issue across campus. Trust me: You'll wanna grab one as a keepsake.

In years past, people emptied all the boxes and scalped copies of the DTH on Franklin Street. So don't miss out, and also don't be that guy. It's not a cute look.

If you're coming this morning specifically to see me (OK, my dog) I'll be in Polk Place outside Carroll Hall. If you're looking for other distribution points or want to order copies online, head over here.

QUICK HITS

  • Leading up to Saturday night, here are 23 reasons why North Carolina is better than Oregon. "We don't die of dysentery" didn't make the list, unfortunately.
  • Swerve Director Sarah Vassello is here today to defend Jubilee and 2 Chainz — especially as an open critic of last year's choice of Chase Rice.
  • Speaking of columns, Sports Editor Jackson Cowart admits to being a blood traitor for Oregon in a column today. If we lose the unspeakable happens this weekend (knock on wood), he is solely responsible.

IN DAILY CRIME

Someone stole a case of bottled water from a local Exxon. Another person reported larceny of a bicycle valued at $1,000. (And I did just ask the newsroom out loud if bikes are allowed to be that expensive.)

IN CHOICES

A bill intended to repeal House Bill 2 was signed into law yesterday by Gov. Roy Cooper. I'll just leave the commentary at that — I'll see ya on the opinion page next week.

IN CAMPUS NEWS

UNC is revisiting its general education curriculum for 2019. We asked current students what they'd change about gen-eds — if "obliterating them with fire" were off the table.

IN WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Plans are in the works for a new neighborhood in Chapel Hill. Wood Townhomes would be located off Homestead Road. It'll host either townhouses or apartments for senior residents.
