DTH at a Glance: Tar Heel Voices ringing clear and…. HOMERUN!

Hey Hey Tar Heels. Hopefully you’ve recuperated from the exhaustion that is a Thursday night recitation and are ready to start this weekend off right (trust me, I’m glad to be starting it with y’all)! Anyways, here’s the news and “woo’s” of UNC:

QUICK HITS

BATTER UP!

Today's game marks the beginning of the season for the No. 6 UNC baseball team. Get ready with our preview of the season here:

  • “It was like a video game calling pitches. If we called it, he threw it.” UNC baseball pitcher Gianluca Dalatri will have the the biggest start of his career on Friday — but he’s not focusing too hard on that.
  • While fans hoping for a return to the College World Series last season were met with heartbreak, the UNC baseball team is using their unexpected failure against Davidson to define this season’s pending success.
  • “Our players are excited about the opportunity to compete against one of the toughest schedules I can remember.” UNC baseball is gearing up for a redemption season with a challenging schedule that features more traveling, stronger opponents and impressive venues across the country.

UNC NEWS

  • Just because Valentine’s Day has passed doesn’t mean you can’t pour some wine and sing along to "Trap Queen.” The UNC Clef Hangers’ hard work shone through the group’s seven national A Cappella Recording Awards nominations.
  • Time to stop worrying about missing a lecture for an emergency. The University Approved Absence Office wants to help students effectively communicate the reasons for their absences to their professors.
  • UNC is focusing on student narratives in their website redesign, which launched Sunday night.
