No pressure

Heading into the NCAA Tournament final against No. 1 Maryland, the North Carolina men's lacrosse team had seen its fare share of doubters. Many thought UNC didn't deserve to be in the tournament. Few thought it could go very far if it got it. And almost no one believed they would have a shot at taking down the Terrapins in Philadelphia on Monday.

But the doubt ended up working in North Carolina's favor. There was no pressure on the Tar Heels, and they played like it all the way to their first national championship since 1991.

Time to celebrate

The North Carolina women's lacrosse team, much like the men, were the underdog in its national title tilt with Maryland over the weekend. But they used that as fuel to the fire.

Then, after the game, the team took to time to celebrate. Not only for what it did that day, but for the people that got them there.

More than one problem

There was so much optimism early in the season, but that can only carry a team so far. After a hot start to the season, the Tar Heels began to struggle at the plate and on the mound while dropping six of its last eight ACC series.
