DTH SPORTS AT A GLANCE

DTH Sports at a Glance: A puncher's chance

I've never been punched in the face. While I've always dreamed of delivering a devastating sucker punch a la LeGarrette Blount in 2009, I've never been able to land good ol' right hook to the jaw. And fortunately, I've never endured one, either.

DTH Sports at a Glance: More score and four years ago

A lot can happen in four years. On Dec. 2, 2012, the top song on the radio was One More Night by Maroon 5. Christian Ponder was the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, and Stephen Curry was a scrawny shooter with bad ankles. Larry Fedora was still a first-year coach with North Carolina and Brice Johnson still had a mustache.

DTH Sports at a Glance: Don't ever give up

Taylor Treacy almost left the game she loved. In her second season at North Carolina, the volleyball star was on the bench and out of favor with Coach Joe Sagula, who had redshirted her the year before. As she watched her teammates excel on the court, she couldn't shake that nagging feeling: "I just don't know if I can do it."

What happened in Atlanta?

After a long holiday weekend to gather my thoughts, I'm still left shaking my head after what we saw from the North Carolina football team in Atlanta.

Long live the Tim Beckman era

After hiding in plain sight for all of training camp, Tim Beckman emerged on Wednesday as a volunteer assistant for the North Carolina football team. Not unlike Chancellor Carol Folt, I was shocked to hear the news. But it didn't last long.
