Feelings About Trailers: Different types of horror

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but can you judge a movie by its trailer? In this semi-weekly, less than professional series, we’ll review newly released trailers of upcoming movies. Send us movie trailers you want reviewed or thoughts on what we got wrong at medium@dailytarheel.com

Our Brand is Crisis

Premieres Oct. 30

Immediate Thoughts: I LOVE SANDRA BULLOCK AND POLITICS AND BASED ON TRUE LIFE MOVIES! It makes sense that the producers of "Argo" are involved in this, because it looks very much like it except with everyone's fave actress (who looks badass as hell) and with a different sad but important political struggle. I like representation of (hopefully accurate) global politics and cool people in mainstream media!! Honestly, whoever Sandra Bullock is playing in this movie is who I aspire to be and I'm halfway there because my #brand is already #crisis.

Best Quote: "What happened to your hair?" NEVER BACK DOWN, SANDRA.

Will I Watch it: Did you just read what I wrote?

Krampus

Premieres Dec. 4

Immediate Thoughts: A Christmas horror movie! First of all, no. Second of all, yes. What even is this and why did they make a bad guy sound like a period pain? (Update: I just learned from my roommate that Krampus is a real folktale thing, but don't be too impressed because she learned that from "American Dad.") I think it is so, so funny that many comedians are in this because, y'all, I'm about to laugh at this, too. 10/10 for being relatable to everyone's holiday experiences.

Best Quote: "He is the shadow of Saint Nicolas." Stay woke, Grandma.

Will I Watch It: Yes forever yes

The Hallow

U.S. release Nov. 13

Immediate Feelings: To paint a picture, I sat on my couch in a defensive position and said "no" a bunch of times during this trailer. You don't ever mess with faeries because the extra "e" stands for evil — I learned that from reading the "Spiderwick Chronicles" series. Let's get real, this looks very good and I appreciate this film's aesthetic, but if that dog dies, I swear to God I'm never watching a movie again.

Best Quote: "If you tresspass upon them, they tresspass upon you." Okay, BYE.

Will I Watch It: Yes. I want to watch it once and then not sleep for a week because somehow that's fun for me!
