Nothing is better for getting in the summertime mood than the perfect summer movie.


The Way Way Back

This is an amazing movie that somehow managed to slip past everyone’s radar. 

It follows Duncan, an outcast young boy, who is in store for a miserable summer spent with his family — including his mom’s suspicious new boyfriend— until he befriends the manager of a local water park who transforms his summer and his way of life.

When Marnie Was There

If you’re looking to satisfy the whimsical, spirited child within you, this beautiful animated film from Studio Ghibli is a perfect match. The movie follows Anna, an introverted young girl, as she explores her relatives’ seaside home and struggles to discover the true identity of a ghostly friend.

Moonrise Kingdom

A modern classic from the widely loved and celebrated director Wes Anderson, "Moonrise Kingdom" tells the story of two twelve-year-olds, Sam and Suzy, who fall in love and decide to run away together just as a deadly storm approaches the sleepy island where they live.

Adventureland

Considering the fact that this movie stars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg (or is it Michael Cera?), it is the absolute perfect movie for when you’re moody and feeling the summertime blues. Included in this film is: terrible amusement park jobs, several over-dramatic love triangles and an abundance of dry humor.
