He Was Actually Here: Ed Sheeran was in Chapel Hill Tuesday

He’s Not Here, but last night Ed Sheeran was. That is neither the first nor the last time I will make that statement.

For the first time, I’m coming out as Ed Sheeran’s long-term girlfriend. Friends and family, I am sorry for keeping this from you. He came to visit me last night and that’s the story.

That is how I would like to start this blog, but my life is actually largely a disappointment. My parents can confirm this statement.

One part of this fantasy is true, however. Ed Sheeran was in Chapel Hill last night. I can confirm this statement because I saw him with my own eyes.

What was he doing here? Ed, 24, is allegedly dating Cherry Seaborn, 23. Seaborn was a field hockey player at Duke University. I know. It’s the worst. On the bright side, we beat Duke in field hockey 2-1 last month, so THERE.

The two have been spotted together at a film premiere and on Instagram, and in our world that makes it 100% official. What makes it even more official is that Ed wore a Duke hoodie to visit Chapel Hill. Both attended Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk. According to Female First, a former school friend of Ed’s said “Ed had a crush on Cherry at school, but she had a boyfriend then.”

Seaborn now lives in New York, according to multiple online sources.

For whatever reason, the reported couple and the rest of Ed’s posse took Chapel Hill by storm last night. His friend, referred to as Kev in his Snapchat story, and a bunch of cool European girls made a few stops after playing beer pong at Duke.

Starting at the Lambda Chi Alpha house on Franklin Street, the A-Team (haha) hoped to experience good American fun at a fraternity house. They didn’t stay long, but it was enough time for me to hear the news and begin searching.

A representative from Lambda Chi declined to comment on the matter.

The group then headed to He’s Not Here for a few Blue Cups. At this point, word went viral and I was already on Franklin Street looking for him.

I cannot tell you how many times in my life I’ve said, “Ed Sheeran and I would definitely date if we ever met.” So once I found out I was within miles of the international superstar, I freaked. I mean I literally lost it. I called my mom crying and tweeted @edsheeran to politely ask where he was. In the end, I had to rely on rumors from my peers.

I finally found Ed, of all places, at [B]Ski’s. I literally found love in a hopeless place. This is where the story comes to a bittersweet ending. I sat at the table beside his, hyperventilating about 10 feet away from him. Trying to play it cool, I didn’t say anything. And then he left. I am so sorry if you got this far and expected something exciting to happen to me.

The night presumably ended with Ed staying with Cherry Seaborn in a posh Durham hotel while I sat on my floor and cried about what could have been. Come back soon, Ed. We miss you already.
