The North Carolina Tar Heels took on the Appalachian State Mountaineers in their second match of the Tar Heel Classic. North Carolina won in three sets.
Suzanne Haydel clinched the first set with a kill. The Tar Heels narrowly won the set 25-22. The Tar Heels had an easier time with the second set, winning 25-17. The third set was another nail-biter for the Tar Heels, as they won by two points.
The Tar Heel Classic continues tonight with North Carolina squaring off against Temple at 7:30.
