With five hits and a career-high tying six RBI, North Carolina third baseman Colin Moran led the Tar Heels to a 14-0 win against Wright State at Boshamer Stadium on Saturday.
Hitting a single in the first inning, a double in the third, a triple in the sixth and a two-run homer in the seventh, Moran also became the first Tar Heel since 2008 to hit for the cycle.
“I just tried to have a relaxed approach at the plate and it paid off a little bit,” Moran said. “In baseball you try not to get too high or too low, you just try to stay on an even keel all day.”
UNC tallied 15 hits in the game, and eight different Tar Heels had at least one.
Junior pitcher Chris Munnelly allowed just three hits in seven shutout innings on the mound for the Tar Heels.
North Carolina will take the field tomorrow at 1 p.m. for the final game of the series.
