UNC leading FSU at halftime

At the midway point of the North Carolina men’s basketball team’s first game in the ACC Tournament, it leads Florida State 35-27.

P.J. Hairston leads all scorers with 12 points after making his first four 3-point attempts. Forward James Michael McAdoo has 10 points.

Only five Tar Heels have scored while eight Seminoles are on the score sheet.

FSU is leading the battle in the paint with more points from the lane and more rebounds but the Tar Heels have made five 3-pointers and have scored 14 points off FSU turnovers.

UNC was a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line and is shooting 38 percent from the floor. FSU is shooting 37 percent but has missed all three of its 3-point shots.

The Maryland Terrapins knocked off Duke 83-74 earlier today so the winner of the UNC-FSU will play Maryland Saturday afternoon.
