Former women's basketball player Diamond DeShields is transferring to Tennessee

Diamond DeShields, former North Carolina women's basketball player and ACC Rookie of the Year, is transferring to Tennessee, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

DeShields, who announced on April 17 she would be leaving UNC, averaged 18 points per game and 5.4 rebounds en route to being named espnW's national freshman of the year and carrying her team to the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament.

DeShields led the Tar Heels to a 27-10 finish while coach Sylvia Hatchell was sidelined for the season to undergo treatment for leukemia. Her 648 points set the record for the most points scored by an ACC freshman in a single season.

DeShields posted the pictures below following the news release.
