UNC leads Tulane 50-31 at halftime

In only fifteen minutes of play, senior forward Brice Johnson scored 17 points and collected seven rebounds to help No. 11 North Carolina race out to a 50-31 lead over Tulane.

Senior forward Joel James replaced junior forward Kennedy Meeks, who is out for at least two weeks with a bone bruise, in the starting lineup and had two points and three rebounds in eight minutes on the floor.

The main beneficiary of Meeks' absence seemed to be junior forward Isaiah Hicks, who scored eight points behind multiple vicious dunks to lead all Tar Heels aside from Johnson. Hicks played 11 minutes even though he continued his role of coming off the bench as the sixth man.
