Suggestions for your 2016 New Year's resolutions

Christmas is almost here! And after that comes New Year’s! It’s the best time of the year! I’m a little excited!

One thing I’m not excited about is that inevitable moment on New Year’s Eve when my family will pull out the 2015 box. This box holds our hopes and dreams for the past year: in other words, our New Year’s resolutions.

Every year I come to terms with the fact that since I’ve forgotten what my resolution even was, I probably didn’t accomplish it. And every year I vow to do better the next.

Here are some of the resolutions I’m eyeing for next year:

1. Lose weight

Here’s an original idea that probably no one else has ever thought of. Make sure to get cute pictures of yourself at the gym (pre-workout of course) in that trendy outfit you got at Lululemon and have been wearing for everything but exercise. And don’t forget #cleaneating! Trust me, chia bowls and smoothies in mason jars will be really good for your Instagram aesthetic.

2. Watch less Netflix

I don’t think I’ll start this one until after I finish watching "Gilmore Girls" (I’m on season four and starting to wonder how everyone can be so darn confused about who they’re really in love with). The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, right?

3. Be more positive

OK, I’m serious about this one. Our minds are powerful things (watch out, finals!), and if we start complaining less, maybe we’ll start enjoying life more. Just a thought.

Whatever you choose, here’s my main piece of advice: Take a few moments this week to pick which lofty goals you’re most interested in breaking next year. Then go out and break them! You rock.
