Local government meeting roundup: Sept. 8 through Sept. 12

It can be hard to keep up with what local government is working on and when they’re meeting. The Orange County Board of Commissioners, Carrboro Board of Aldermen and Chapel Hill Town Council meet regularly throughout the week. Town Talk’s weekly meeting roundup will keep readers in the know.

MONDAY

Orange County Board of Commissioners Quarterly Public Hearing

Time: 7 p.m.

Location: 300 W. Tryon St., Hillsborough

Notable: The commissioners will be discussing the 2030 comprehensive plan and land use map in their quarterly public hearing.

Chapel Hill Town Council Business Meeting

Time: 7 p.m.

Location: 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill

Notable: The council members will discuss continuing the Rogers Road public hearing about extraterritorial jurisdiction to Oct. 15 and further amendments to the town’s towing policy. Community members will also bring a petition to the Council about mismanagement of town finances.

TUESDAY

Carrboro Board of Aldermen Regular Meeting

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Notable: The aldermen have three major points to discuss at their regular meeting. They will talk about the future of the 110 E. Main St. condo located over Acme Food & Beverage Co., adding agricultural support enterprises to the rural buffer and the requirements for keeping fowl in Carrboro.

WEDNESDAY

Chapel Hill Town Council Work Session

Time: 6 p.m.

Location: 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill

Notable: The town council will discuss a schedule for negotiations for the Obey Creek development and receive an update on Downtown Imagined, a project aimed at revitalizing the downtown Chapel Hill area.

THURSDAY

Orange County Board of Commissioners Regular Work Session
