Adoptable Dog of the Week: Buddy

Staff writer Maggie Monsrud volunteers at the Orange County Animal Shelter. Each week, she will write about a dog at the shelter who's up for adoption. You can visit the shelter's website here and see last week's post here.

This week I have the honor of introducing you to Buddy!

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier

Age: 2 Years

Gender: Male

As both his name and those deep chocolate brown eyes suggest, Buddy is full of love. He greets everyone he sees with a wag of his tail.

Something about Buddy that really stuck out to me was how well he got along with other dogs. I took Buddy and another dog from the shelter on an outing to the pet store Paws at the Corner in Hillsborough in order to promote the shelter, and Buddy was very well behaved. He was a great passenger in the car and proudly represented Orange County Animal Shelter.

I absolutely love the color of Buddy’s coat. His coat is a swirl of brown and black and makes his brown eyes pop.

Buddy is also very smart. He knows how to sit and shake. I discovered his ability to shake by accident. When he sat down, I knelt down to congratulate him and he pawed at my hand. Clearly, he was trying to show off his skills.

If you’re interested in adopting Buddy, visit his OCAS page here, then pay him a visit at the shelter. His adoption fee is fully sponsored, so you can take Buddy home at no cost. That’s right, not only is Buddy the complete package, but he’s also a bargain!
