TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize about a painting that promoted a UNC hockey tournament.

The tournament is an annual UNC hosted event that honors James Sapikowski, a UNC coach who passed away.

The event is supposed to be a memorial filled with positive actions and the cube in the Pit was not what we as a team want to be associated with.

We did not mean for anybody to be offended and on behalf of the team we are all very sorry for the people who were offended.
