NEWARK, N.J. – North Carolina rolled into the Elite Eight with a big win against No. 11 seeded Marquette 81-63.

The Golden Eagles scored only 15 first-half points and dug itself into a hole early as the Tar Heels shot 45 percent in the first twenty minutes.

Junior forward Tyler Zeller had a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds as he once again led the Tar Heels in the tournament. John Henson recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Harrison Barnes was one board shy of a double-double with 20 points.

At one point in the game, UNC led by as many as 32 points. Marquette drew within 13 at one point, but never truly threatened the No. 2 seeded Tar Heels.

UNC (29-7) advance to the next round and will play the winner of Ohio State-Kentucky, which follows 30 minutes after the completion of UNC’s game. Marquette finishes its season at 22-15.
