Two University professors from the College of Arts and Sciences earned Guggenheim Fellowships to fund their future research projects.

William Brundage, distinguished history professor, has written about lynching and utopian socialism. He has also researched Southern historical memory after the Civil War. He plans to write a book exploring torture in the United States.

Monika Truemper, associate professor of classics, also received the award. As an archaeologist specializing in Hellenistic and Roman art and architecture, she has completed in-depth research on Greek baths. The fellowship will fund a book that she will write about bathing culture in ancient Greece.
