The Chapel Hill Police Department has charged two women with financial crimes.

Kimberly Ann Jones, 36, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Meggan Zarrilli, 25,of Cooper City, Fla. with involvement in financial crimes.

Jones was charged with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretense, two counts of felony uttering forged instrument, two counts of felony forgery of endorsement, two counts of felony identity theft, one count of felony attempt to obtain property by false pretenses, two counts of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Zarrilli was charged with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretense, two counts of felony forgery of instrument, one count of felony identity theft, one count of felony attempt to obtain property by false pretense, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both cases involved the suspects attempting to cash in stolen checks at local banks.

Jones and Zarrilli are both being held in the Orange County Jail on a $100,000 secure bond.
