It’s hard to watch the Super Bowl when your team isn’t in it. For those of us who don’t care about the teams, Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest advertising day in over-the-air television. The event is so popular that ad-space costs $3.5 million for a 30 second spot.
Before I show you my favorites, I want to point a few things out. I think this was the first year that beer ads weren’t stupid. I can’t remember a Super Bowl where people drinking Bud Light weren’t knocking each other out or making houses out of beer. Kudos to them. There was a ludicrous number of car commercials — most of which college students probably can’t afford. I think the Samsung Galaxy Note commercial was one of the worst. I’ve never seen paid actors so excited about drawing on photos.
Anyway, here are my favorite ads of this Super Bowl Sunday:
