The Tar Heels swept the series from Duke this weekend at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park — here are the highlights.

Winners: Friday Kent Emanuel (7-3) on 8.0 IP, 5 hits, 1 run, 6 strikeouts, 1 walk.

Top Hitters
Chaz Frank went 7 for 15 this weekend with four RBI and two walks. Parks Jordan went 6 for 14 this weekend batting out of the nine hole. He had four hits and drove in three runs on Saturday. Brian Holberton went 4 for 13 and drove in two runs.

Notes: Lefthander Hobbs Johnson was supposed to start Sunday but was scratched due to illness. Reliever Shane Taylor started in his place and pitched eight innings of one-hit ball. Closer Michael Morin picked up two saves in the series. He leads the ACC with 16.

Up Next: The Tar Heels continue the streak of playing in Minor League parks as they head up to Asheville to play the Bulldogs in the Asheville Tourists’ (home park of the Colorado Rockies Class A affiliate) on Tuesday. The Tar Heels have a Thursday, Friday, Saturday series with Virginia Tech next weekend. That will be UNC’s final ACC series before the conference tournament in Greensboro.
