UNC students and faculty held a walkout Tuesday protesting UNC-system President Margaret Spellings' first day on the job. The protest was organized by various organizations, including the UNC-Chapel Hill BOG Democracy Coalition and Faculty Forward. At its inaugural alumni homecoming, the Daily Tar Heel honored Edwin Yoder, a 1956 UNC graduate and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Tar Heel from 1955-1956, with the first Distinguished Alumni Award. Videographer Stephanie Lamm spoke with Yoder and others about the legacy of his work at the DTH and his later career in journalism.
