The Center for Dramatic Art contains two theaters on the campus of the University of North Carolina. The Paul Green Theatre and Elizabeth Price Kenan Theatre are both part of the center. The Paul Green Theatre was built in 1976 and holds 500 seats. PlayMakers Repertory Company stages several shows in the theater each season, and traveling professional theater groups also perform in the space.
Kenan Theatre was built as an extension of the Paul Green Theatre. It seats 200 and has a flexible set-up, allowing more options for the staging of plays. PlayMakers performs its more experimental theater, the PRC (squared) series, in this space. Lab! Theatre and the Department of Dramatic Art also perform in this space.
The building also houses a large costume shop, rehearsal hall, acting studios, classrooms and offices.
