Topics: FedEx Global Education Center

The FedEx Global Education Center, located at the corner of McCauley and Pittsboro streets, was dedicated in October 2007. The international center combines student and faculty services, academic instruction, and programs and research. The goal of combining those resources was to create a more integrated approach to international education.

The center opened in March 2007 after two and half years of construction. The $39 million facility was funded by the 2000 Higher Education Bond Referendum and private gifts, including $5 million from the FedEx Corp., for which it was named. The center houses 12 units that focus on international studies and development, plus classrooms and offices, and centralizes UNC’s global education community.
