But after day one at Bulls Bay, it sure looked like the Tar Heels’ first rodeo.
The top four scorers on day one put together a score of 306, 22-over-par, and found themselves tied with College of Charleston for last place.

Led by juniors Catherine O’Donnell and Allie White, the No. 14 North Carolina women’s golf team took third place in the Bryan National Collegiate this weekend in Browns Summit.
O’Donnell and White both carded 7-over-par for the three-round event, putting them tied for fifth overall.

Led by McGowan, the North Carolina men’s golf team dominated the field at the sixth-annual UNC-Greensboro Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, breaking a tournament record by finishing at 31 under par. No. 8 Auburn finished second, coming in seven shots behind the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels’ stroke total for the tournament was 906, and Thomas was the only UNC player to place in the top ten.
