Topics: Pauper Players

The Pauper Players is a student-run theater organization that produces and performs musicals at UNC. The group was established in 1989.

The group typically performs one fall musical, one Broadway musical review and one spring musical. Some past performances have included “Chicago,” “Godspell” and “Little Shop of Horrors.” Every aspect of the production is student-produced, allowing students to be involved whether on stage, backstage or even on the business side.

The group performs in the Cabaret in the Student Union. Its name was inspired by the meager funds it had when organizing its first musical, “Les Miserables.”
