The UNC Student Television network broadcasts 24 hours a day on channel 33 on campus. It also broadcasts on channel 3 in the Chapel Hill cable district. The group has been around since the early 1980s and is especially noted for its most popular and long-time running “Off the Cuff” show.
Programming from the group, entirely student produced, ranges anywhere from game shows to sitcoms, soap operas, sketch comedy or action-horror spoofs. The group also televises some campus activities, with 2009 being the first year they televised Student Body Election debates.

Aspiring soap opera stars, talk show hosts and sitcom writers have practiced their crafts on Student Television for more than 25 years. This year STV continues that role, introducing new programs aimed at giving back to the UNC community.
