The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association held its third annual Eastern Triangle Farm Tour on Saturday, showcasing farms in the Triangle area. The goal of the association is to show how local agriculture is good for the consumer, good for the farmer and good for the land.
Good Morning America Weekend Edition filmed outside Carroll Hall on Saturday morning. As part of their initiative to gauge the political climate on college campuses in all 50 states, the show has filmed from different UNC campus locations throughout the week.
The N.C. Corgi Picnic is held annually to raise funds for Corgi Aid in Chapel Hill, N.C. This year featured events such as freestyle dancing, agility demonstrations, costume parades and hot dog bobbing. The picnic reached record attendance with over 200 humans and their corgis.

Dogs lunged for frisbees, jumped over bars and performed tricks at the 17th Annual Dog Olympics at N.C. State's University Club in Raleigh on Saturday. The event was held to raise funds for the College of Veterinary Medicine and included athletic and non-athletic competitions like longest tail, longest frisbee toss, best howl, best beggar, limbo and best trick.

Tropical storm Hanna entered the Triangle in the early hours of Saturday, dissipating by noon on Saturday. Aside from some fallen trees and sporadic flash-flooding, the area wasn't badly hit. Winds exceeded 50 mph in some parts of the state, and some beach residents spent the night in storm shelters. On campus, a few large trees fell, causing temporary closures of both Cameron Avenue and Ridge Road.
The Muslim Students Association held its first Iftaar—a communal evening meal for breaking the daily fast—at dusk Wednesday in the Student Union.
