Polls, panel agree: America's ready for a black president

With the recent successes in Barack Obama's presidential campaign, many Americans are wondering if the country is ready for a black president.
A Gallup poll from 2007 revealed that Americans were more willing to put a black man in the president's office than a woman, with 94 percent of participants saying they would be open to voting for a black man and 88 percent saying they would be open to voting for a woman. (0 Comments)
