Vigil tonight for slain Duke student

DURHAM (AP) - An evening memorial service will be held for a Duke University graduate student who was fatally shot in his apartment earlier this year. Abhijit Mahato will be remembered at 6 p.m. Monday in front of the Anderson Street Apartments. Originally from Tatangar, India, Mahato was studying for a doctorate in computational mechanics at Duke's Pratt School of Engineering. (0 Comments)

In the wake of Student Body President Eve Carson's murder, an overloaded probation system has faced increased scrutiny, with some saying the system suffers from inadequate resources.
