- Someone reported Sunday $5,780 worth of personal items stolen from an unlocked vehicle, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Reports state that the 1997 Ford Expedition was parked in a 305 W. Rosemary St. lot.

Stolen items include an iPod, a digital camera, a camera lens and a $5,000 ring, according to reports.



- Police arrested a woman who hit a car with a bat Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Reports state that Latonya Ersell Fearrington, 21, caused about $500 in damage to a 2004 Nissan after a road rage incident in Durham.

Fearrington, of Durham, was arrested on Fordham Boulevard and faces a charge of damage to personal property, according to reports.



- Police received three different reports of breaking and entering on Ives Court on Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

In two of the cases, the only damages were to $100 locks, reports state.

In the third incident, a total of $2,801 in merchandise was stolen, including at least 100 video games, according to reports.

Reports state that someone pried open the storage unit door using a jimmy or pry tool.



- Carrboro police responded to a report Friday of someone throwing a brick through a car’s window, according to Carrboro police reports.

Reports state that the car did not appear to be broken into because nothing was stolen. The reporting person told an officer that it appeared as though someone stood on the driver’s side and threw the brick through the window, reports state.



- Carrboro police responded Friday to reports of a sick squirrel in a resident’s backyard, according to Carrboro police reports.

Reports state that the responding officer transported the squirrel to the Piedmont Wildlife Center, but the animal was dead on arrival.
