Mountain Lions

Last week a mountain lion was spotted in Chapel Hill. We think mountain lions are pretty cool but dangerous to humans. If one approaches, raise your hands to make yourself appear larger to prevent an attack.

 

Blue Books

It’s exam time again, which means everyone will be stockpiling blue books and scantrons. No one likes exams, but forcing students to pay for the privilege just adds insult to injury. Brother, can you spare a dime?

 

Recession

BREAKING NEWS: We’re officially in a recession! The National Bureau of Economic Research — which is charged with officially calling economic cycles — stated that the recession began in December 2007.

 

Rhodes Scholar

Props to Lisette Yorke and  former DTH Opinion Editor Aisha Saad for winning the Rhodes Scholarship. Saad and Yorke follow in the footsteps of many UNC alumni. Saad’s selection clearly reflects well on this prestigious page.

 

Lot 5 Parking

During the construction of 140 West, Lot 5 is going to lose around 170 parking spots in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill. Now there’s nowhere to park to visit the shops that don’t exist on Franklin Street.

 

Football

We’re happy that this year’s football team finished 8-4. It’s too bad we had to spend nearly $2 million a year on Butch Davis’ salary to make that happen. Maybe another $2 million will help us beat N.C. State next year!
