The Ackland Art Museum brings interactive art to campus

An exhibition of brightly colored kinetic sculptures have popped up around campus, giving students a new way to interact with art. The exhibition is called Los Trompos — Spanish for “the tops” — and is a collaboration between two Mexican designers, Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena.


4-year art search shown at Ackland

For years, students have been coming to the Ackland Art Museum to see a bright work of art without realizing the brilliance behind it. The interest resulted in an explosion of color taking over the museum’s walls.


Ackland Store moves across street

Prospective and current students, parents and Chapel Hill residents passing the corner of Franklin and Columbia streets will soon find vacant the large window space formerly boasted by the Ackland Museum Store.
