First-year keeper comes up big in UNC overtime win

Five. That was the number of saves the No. 17 North Carolina men's lacrosse team had in the second quarter for the whole season entering Friday night's game against No. 11 Duke. Fives saves on 52 shots with 19 goals allowed.

Tar Heels can't come through with upset bid against Maryland

After a 15-6 routing of Richmond, the No. 13 North Carolina men’s lacrosse team looked poised to continue its winning streak against No. 7 Maryland. But on Saturday, UNC (5-4) fell short of expectations in an 11-8 loss to the Terrapins. Sophomore Chris Cloutier scored the first goal of the game off an assist by senior Steve Pontrello.

UNC men's lacrosse rebounds with 18-2 drubbing of Manhattan

The North Carolina men’s lacrosse team entered Monday’s game against Manhattan looking to end its first regular-season losing streak since 2012. After losing to Denver and Massachusetts in back-to-back games, seventeenth-ranked UNC (4-3) did just that by trouncing the Jaspers 18-2.

Mistakes cost UNC in overtime loss to Denver

With both offenses firing on all cylinders, the North Carolina and Denver lacrosse teams faced off to open overtime, looking to earn the offensive possession to give them the sudden-death victory. And for the 21st time in the game, No. 1 Denver claimed possession and yet another opportunity for its prolific offense.

UNC men's lacrosse falls short of Final Four with loss to Maryland

Joey Sankey didn’t celebrate.  With 5:12 left in his team's NCAA quarterfinal game against Maryland, the senior had just scored his third goal of the day — what would be the last goal of his career as a North Carolina men’s lacrosse player.  But the senior handed out neither hugs nor high-fives.
