Morinaga, a Japanese candy making company, is making progress on its new factory in Mebane, NC. The company will be recruiting employees this week and will hopefully provide jobs to rural Orange County residents.

As Japanese company Morinaga America Foods Inc. prepares to open its candy factory in Mebane, the company is trying to recruit workers who could start as early as April.


Research and Development

UNC is one of the leading public research universities in the nation, according to the Carnegie Foundation’s classification of colleges and universities. The University’s research funding for the fiscal year of 2014 totaled more than $790 million. There are 80 research centers and institutes at UNC.
