Student group unveils new UNC app

CarolinaGO, a mobile application designed to inform students of everything they need to know at UNC, has been in the making since 2012, and students' partnership with UNC's Information Technology Services has finally brought the app to fruition.

Doctors OK long-acting birth control for teenagers

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently recommended that long-acting, reversible contraception methods should be the primary form of birth control for teenage girls. These methods include implants and intrauterine devices, known as IUDs.


Injury research center gets CDC grant

A UNC research center has received a maximum grant allowance of $4.5 million from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — a continuation of funding to conduct four studies about preventing various types of injuries.

It all started Thursday when junior Jeri Trull posted a photo of the whiteboard in the bottom of the Undergraduate Library on Overheard at UNC. “Online Streaming Access, 800+ Feature Films” was sprawled in big letters across the whiteboard.
